Standouts: 3SSB Championships (Day 1)

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Adidas 3SSB Championships started on Wednesday at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center.
Here is a look at the top performances on the day.
2026 5-10 G Justice Griffith – Compton Magic
Justice Griffith (Pictured Above) was one of the best leapers and floor pushers in the gym. Playing up for the 16U Compton Magic, the 2026 5-foot-10 guard couldn’t be contained defensively in a win over Austin Rivers SE Elite with 19 pts. Griffith powered through defenders like a running back. His jumping ability on the boards was on full display. He is a dangerous athlete (View his punch dunk here).

Kur Teng is a perfect fit for Michigan State and the verbal commitment in the 2024 class. The 6-foot-4 guard is a gifted athlete who finds openings and moves very well for his size. He was red hot in a win over Austin Rivers SE Elite with 27 points on some impressive shots over defenders in his face and his own creation. Teng scored whenever and wherever he wanted in this game.
2027 6-2 G Martay Barnes – Austin Rivers SE Elite

G Martay Barnes was on fire in a convincing win over Team Loaded NC. He racked up 26 points with four triples). The 2027 6-foot-2 guard has a seasoned handle and his mix of burst, overall smarts and attacking ability were on full display this morning. Barnes is well on his way and has a high ceiling.
2024 6-2 G Kyle Perry – Dream Vision

Kyle Perry made a name for himself on the opening day of the 3SSB Championships. The 2024 6-foot-2 guard can flat-out get up on drives. Perry is crazy athletic. He had a handful of punch dunks. With 21 points, he flew in for finishes and is a versatile energy slasher and kept his Dream Vision hanging around in a loss to New World.
2024 6-8 F Khani Rooths – New World

Khani Rooths was working on both ends of the floor in a win over Dream Vision with 11 points. The 2024 6-foot-8 guard has a steady handle, reliable jumper and is not afraid to take defenders to the hole 1-on-1 with his pure strength. He is a mature player who will bring a huge impact to his new stomping grounds at IMG this fall.
2025 6-9 F Koa Peat – Compton Magic

The Compton Magic 17U has a versatile, lengthy and deep group. 2025 6-foot-9 forward Koa Peat wasn’t phased at all in a 17-point performance. Physical at the point of attack, Peat is a true bucket getter. The upside is clear with him and it was on full display in the gym.
2026 6-foot-4 guard Alijah Arenas wasn’t phased by playing two age levels up. He got off his shot and found good areas to finish and push the cause with a 10-point outing. He’s dripping with pure upside.
2024 6-2 G Travis Perry – Indiana Elite

Jumpers were raining left and right in the Indiana Elite and Team Trae Young. 2024 6-foot-2 guard Travis Perry was at the center of it all with his 3-point shot. He had an all-around complete performance with 14 points in the win. A high IQ guard, Perry hustled the whole way through and has a knack for making the right play.
2024 6-11 F Doryan Onwuchekwa – Team Trae Young

Doryan Onwuchekwa is a nimble big who can really drive and finish around the rim with purpose. The 2024 6-foot-11 Team Trae Young forward has advanced footwork for his size, nice shooting touch and a lot of grit. Onwuchekwa finished with a team-best 19 points in a loss to Indiana Elite. He’s a dangerous inside player who is a nifty shooter as well.
2025 6-9 F Maodo Malick – Austin Rivers SE Elite

As the game went on, the better Maodo Malick got in a loss to Compton Magic. The 2025 6-foot-9 Austin Rivers SE Elite forward was all over the paint in the outing. He had 13 points and double-digit rebounds, fought on the glass and dunked over and over. Plus, Malick’s a vocal presence who keeps everyone going. He’s a true upside player.
2026 6-3 G Tyrease Hunter – Team Loaded NC

Team Loaded NC didn’t get the win against Austin Rivers SE Elite in the 15U division this afternoon, but there was a true bright spot. 2026 6-foot-3 guard Tyrease Hunter was the best thing rolling in the loss. Hunter’s mid-range pull-up is a thing of beauty, while his athleticism and downhill attack is seasoned. Hunter is a skilled two-way guard.
