Here is a look at the best performances by team (in order by their record at the event)
3-0 Squads
Florida High Seminoles (Tallahassee, FL)
One of the deepest teams in the state, Florida High has now won nine games in a row and looks like a true contender to win a back-to-back state championship in Class 3A. 2023 6-foot-3 guard Anthony Robinson II averaged 22.3 PPG and 5.6 RPG and simply put up buckets as a mid-range shooter and driver. Missouri got a steal in this smart and gifted athlete. 2025 6-foot-6 forward Trey Card averaged 12.0 PPG and 6.3 RPG and had eight steals proving his aggressive style of play. 2023 6-foot guard Thad Burns averaged 11.6 PPG and simply gets the job done as a shooter.
It will be hard to stop Florida High, in its debut in Sun Bash Tampa, the Seminoles looked basically unbeatable. They got a really good test on the final day against New York Xaverian in a seven-point win.
Sun Bash Matchups: Blake, St. Pete, New York Xaverian
Calvary Christian Warriors (Clearwater, FL)
Calvary Christian plays endlessly hard on both ends of the floor. 2024 6-foot-1 guard Daniel MacGregor sets the tone and with averages of 21.3 PPG and 7.3 RPG, it is hard to deny his grittiness. 2024 6-foot-6 guard/forward Ace Taylor averaged 12.0 PPG and had some impressive finishes. 2023 6-foot-1 guard Dominic Sarigumba handles ball pressure really well and had a big-time two-handed dunk against Louisiana Northshore. His game-high was 16 points against Plant.
The Warriors have been in four consecutive Sun Bash Tampa events and the talent keeps coming for this Class 3A squad. They are peaking at the right time.
Sun Bash Matchups: Plant, Louisiana Northshore, East Lake
Gateway Charter Griffins (Fort Myers, FL)
Winners of a school-record 10 games in a row, Gateway Charter is in a groove. 2023 6-foot-4 guard Jahmari Johnson was on fire all week long, averaging 23.0 PPG and 7.6 RPG. He dropped 30 points in the opening game against Wharton. 2025 6-foot-8 forward Pat Johnson averaged 12.3 PPG and 7.6 RPG and continues to shine on both ends of the floor. 2023 6-foot-2 guard Jaden Arzola averaged 11.6 PPG and is always a threat from deep. 2024 6-foot guard Gabe Timmons saved his best for last against St. Pete with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Averaging just under 10.0 PPG for the week, Timmons is an all-around threat and a very talented ballhandler.
In its debut in Sun Bash Tampa, Gateway Charter lived up to the hype and certainly has a chance to make noise out of the Fort Myers in Class 3A.
Sun Bash Matchups: Wharton, Plant, St. Pete
Northside Christian Mustangs (St. Pete, FL)
The tournament host, Northside Christian has one of the most in-sync groups that you’ll find anywhere. A deep group of seniors that have been together for quite some time, 2023 6-foot-4 guard Tobias Gunter averaged a team-high 17.0 PPG and 11.3 RPG. 2023 6-foot guard Skyler Scull flashed his gamer ability with 12.0 PPG and 2023 6-foot-1 guard Hayden McCain rose to the occasion aplenty with 10.3 PPG.
In its third year in Sun Bash Tampa, the Mustangs don’t back down from anyone and they’ll be better off as the season progresses because of it. This is a fun unit.
Sun Bash Matchups: Holy Trinity, Canterbury, Plant
2-1 Squads
Xaverian Clippers (Brooklyn, NY)
Xaverian’s only loss came to Florida High by seven points on the final day of the event. 2023 6-foot-1 guard Nasir Muhmmad averaged 26.3 PPG on the week and simply looked unguardable much of the week. He’s a lock Division I talent. 2023 6-foot-6 forward Don Colon Lewis emerged with averages of 19.0 PPG and 9.0 RPG, making his buckets down low time and time again. 2023 6-foot guard Aaron Goldstein was a consistent shooting threat who averaged 11.6 PPG and leads this offense a lot with his ballhandling skills.
In its debut in Sun Bash Tampa, Xaverian made it clear that New York basketball is not something to take lightly. This is a very deep group with size, athletes and shooters.
Sun Bash Matchups: North Broward, North Florida Educational, Florida High
North Broward Prep Eagles (Coconut Creek, FL)
North Broward’s lone loss came to Northshore in the early morning tilt on Day 3. 2023 6-foot-4 guard Ryan Weiss is a superb shooter who averaged 21.0 PPG on the week. 2024 6-foot-8 forward Enrico Borio is a bought-in big man who has a bright future. He averaged 10.3 PPG and 7.0 RPG and brought a ton of energy to his side.
The Eagles are a very talented squad and I think they certainly came away better after a three-game stretch in its second year in the event. Down in Fort Lauderdale, they should be able to make a run in the postseason.
Sun Bash Matchups: New York Xaverian, Wharton, Northshore
Gibbs Gladiators (St. Pete, FL)
2025 6-foot guard Jacob Daniels really shined for Gibbs with 16.6 PPG and 4.6 RPG averages which featured a 25-point outing in a double overtime loss to Wharton on Day 3. 2025 6-foot-2 guard Mathis Roberts showed flashes with a weekly high of 17 points. 2023 6-foot-4 forward Marcus Calvin (Kansas football signee) shot the ball well with a weekly high of 18 points.
In its second year in Sun Bash Tampa, Gibbs battled against some very good and strong groups. The Gladiators are built for a run in Class 4A.
Sun Bash Matchups: North Florida Educational, Blake, Wharton
East Lake Eagles (Tarpon Springs, FL)
Coming into the event undefeated, East Lake’s lone blemish of the week was a loss to Calvary Christian in the annual final game of Sun Bash Tampa. 2023 6-foot sharpshooter Justin Kruszewski surely didn’t look like a player who only had suited up for two games. Back healthy, he averaged 24.3 PPG and shot the ball at a high clip which included a 33-point performance against Holy Trinity on Day 2. 2023 crafty guards in 6-foot-1 Albert Lacy (12 PPG) and 6-foot Henry Hurst Jr. (12.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG) both played hard all week.
In its fourth year in the event, East Lake always brings energy, fun and smart basketball. With Kruszewski back scoring in bunches, the Eagles will make a serious run in the postseason.
Sun Bash Matchups: Canterbury, Holy Trinity, Calvary Christian
1-2 Squads
Holy Trinity Tigers (Melbourne, FL)
You might want to call 2026 6-foot-7 forward Caleb Gaskins, ‘Mr. Consistent’ as he averaged 18.3 PPG and 6.6 RPG. He is one of the most skilled freshmen out there and he got a plethora of experience starting on varsity as an 8th grader. 2024 5-foot-9 guard Elijah Reynolds averaged 12.3 PPG and handled the pressure well while 2024 6-foot-6 forward Willie Thompson (10.6 PPG) and 2027 6-foot-1 guard Martay Barnes both shined plenty.
In its Sun Bash Tampa debut, Holy Trinity’s effort and talent are better than its record implied. The Tigers have some of the best young prospects you’ll see anywhere.
Sun Bash Matchups: Northside Christian, East Lake, Canterbury
Northshore Panthers (Slidell, LA)
2024 6-foot-1 guard Kohen Rowbatham is a gifted player and he proved it all week. He averaged 22.6 PPG as he plays aggressively and with purpose all game long. 2024 6-foot-7 forward Dawson Knox had a 10-point, 9-rebound performance on Day 2 and used his length to his advantage.
In its first year in Sun Bash Tampa, Northshore brought a ton of hard-nosed play down from Louisiana. Rowbatham is a special talent and he should be able to help guide this squad back to the state championship if all goes to plan.
Sun Bash Matchups: St. Pete, Calvary Christian, North Broward
North Florida Educational Eagles (Jacksonville, FL)
NFEI earned some eye-opening performances from 2023 6-foot-6 guard Isaac Tavares (FGCU, Robert Morris, Troy, Jacksonville, FAU offers). He averaged 22 PPG, 7.6 RPG and 3.3 APG and simply filled the stat sheet. 2023 6-foot-2 guard Tommie Hall and 2023 6-foot-2 guard Juan Barbista both had some bright moments on the week.
In its debut in the Sun Bash, North Florida Educational brought a ton of athleticism and battle to the event. This is a group that is built for a serious run in Class 2A.
Sun Bash Matchups: Gibbs, Xaverian, Blake
Wharton Wildcats (Tampa, FL)
2025 6-foot-5 Karmello Branch had a nice week averaging 13.0 PPG which featured a 20-point, 6-rebound performance on Day 1. 2025 6-foot-5 Chandler Davis saved his best for last with an 18-point, 6-rebound, 2-assist game in a double overtime win over Gibbs on Day 3.
In its first year in Sun Bash Tampa, Wharton is better off for the second half stretch of the season.
Sun Bash Matchups: Gateway Charter, North Broward, Gibbs
0-3 Squads
Blake Yellow Jackets (Tampa, FL)
The Yellow Jackets went 0-3 last week, but these are the games that will make them better down the road. 2025 6-foot-7 guard Joshua Lewis averaged 14.6 PPG and 6.3 RPG and never stopped battling for his side. 2026 6-foot-7 Joe “Jojo” Philion paced Lewis with 11.3 PPG and 4.3 APG while 2024 5-foot-10 guard Malik Brady-Ayers averaged just under 10.0 PPG.
In its first year in Sun Bash Tampa, Blake proved it is well on its way despite the final results. This young group is special and will only get better from here with Lewis and Philon maturing further.
Sun Bash Matchups: Florida High, Gibbs, North Florida Educational
St. Petersburg Green Devils (St. Petersburg, FL)
St. Pete had three awfully tough matchups but much like the other 0-3 teams, these games will do wonders as the Green Devils push through the season and make a run in the postseason. 2023 6-foot-5 guard Tristan Gross averaged a team-best 15.0 PPG and had an impressive 23-point outing in the final night against Gateway Charter. 2023 6-foot-1 guard Sam Ducksworth averaged 12.0 PPG while 2023 6-foot-5 forward Dylan Kramer averaged 9.6 PPG and 5.3 RPG.
In its second year in Sun Bash Tampa, St. Pete competed against some of the best competition they’ll see all season long. This senior-heavy group is built for the playoffs.
Sun Bash Matchups: Louisiana Northshore, Florida High, Gateway Charter
Plant Panthers (Tampa, FL)
The Panthers earned a very sound week from 2023 6-foot-4 guard Will Willard (Eckerd commit) who averaged 16.0 PPG. He dropped 29 points with seven 3’s in a loss to Gateway Charter on Day 2 of action. 2024 6-foot-2 forward Dillon Costello had a 17-point, 6-rebound outing while 2023 5-foot-10 guard Noah Fishman posted a 12-point, 5-rebound game to close out the event.
In its second year in Sun Bash Tampa, Plant didn’t win a game but it surely will help the cause as the season continues to roll on. The Panthers have shooters and hard-nosed players on their side.
Sun Bash Matchups: Calvary Christian, Gateway Charter, Northside Christian
Canterbury Cougars (Fort Myers, FL)
The Canterbury offense continues to run under 2024 6-foot guard Leroy Roker. He was very good all week long with averages of 8.6 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 4.3 APG. 2025 6-foot-7 forward Jerry Ashley averaged 9.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 3.6 BPG (tournament high) and had bright moments as an aggressor. 2026 6-foot-5 guard Brisun Hammermeister averaged 11.0 PPG and 3.0 RPG with a 24-point performance (eight 3’s) against Holy Trinity on the final day.
In its Sun Bash Tampa debut, Canterbury was still figuring things out, but they competed for much of each game in the opening half. Making adjustments to get this young squad in sync will do wonders as the Cougars head back to Southwest Florida for games.
Sun Bash Matchups: East Lake, Northside Christian, Holy Trinity
