2024 6-7 F Sammie Yeanay – The Rock

The defending SIAA champs boast a long and athletic unit. The Rock held off a comeback attempt against a very good Tampa Catholic squad. 2024 6-foot-7 forward Sammie Yeanay and 2024 6-foot-9 forward RJ Jones each recorded 26 points while 2024 6-foot-4 guard Dallas Jones pitched in with 11 points of his own.

—Yeanay was all over the paint, adding 12 rebounds as well and he proved once again that he is a very tough cover on both ends of the floor. RJ Jones did his thing with lay-ins, mid-range jumpers and just all-around impressive play while also grabbing 15 rebounds. Dallas Jones thrived as an attacker.

2024 6-5 F Tyler Johnson – Oak Ridge

The progress that Tyler Johnson has made is quite evident. In the comeback victory over a speedy and guard minded Windemere squad, the 6-foot-5 junior forward added 21 points for his side. Johnson is long at the point of attack and a tough task defensively with his burst and finishing ability.

—2024 6-foot-5 guard Jordan Tillery (17 points) has settled in nicely as a top shooter and slasher since transferring in from Dr. Phillips this summer. 2025 6-foot guard Jalen Reece (11 points) has added muscle and is a super talented point man with scoring prowess.

2023 6-3 G Eddrin Bronson – Tampa Catholic

Another day, another impressive outing for 2023 6-foot-3 guard Eddrin Bronson. The Furman commit led Tampa Catholic with 23 points, buried some key 3’s and played with good pace all game long. 2024 6-foot-6 guard Karter Knox paced Bronson with 22 points and used his size and strength to his advantage inside often.

2023 6-3 G Jalen Escontrias – Evans

A true gamer, every time I see Jalen Escontrias, he performs at a high level. The 2023 6-foot-3 guard is a super efficient mid-range jump shooter and active defender. Escontrias finished with 21 points in the win over Lake Highland. He’s a super underrated senior prospect who can fill up the stat sheet in a hurry.

—2023 6-foot-6 forward Micah Blackmon (16 points) was working hard down low on the boards and with clean ups.

2023 6-3 G Jaidyn Breville – Central Florida Christian

Dr. Phillips battled with Central Florida Christian in the opening tilt of the event. It was 2023 6-foot-3 guard Jaidyn Breville who set the tone with his inside finishing and shot blocking ability. He ended the game with 20 points. 2023 6-foot-5 guard Eduardo Placer (USC Upstate commit) had 17 points, some tough nosed finishes and four clutch free throws with around a minute left to put the game away.

2024 6-4 G Vopchy Prophete – Wekiva

Wekiva came out red hot offensively and didn’t look back in a big win over St. Pete to improve to 5-0. 2024 6-foot-4 guard Vopchy Prophete continues to shine as a long ranged shooter, defensive pest and a smooth finisher. He led his side with 19 points.

—2023 6-foot-3 guard KJ Robinson (Hofstra commit) was active on both ends of the floor and guided the offense all game long with his ballhandling ability. 2023 6-foot-6 guard Malachi Hampton displayed his bounce on multiple dunks and his all-around energy.

2023 6-1 G Omari Henry – Jones

This Jones team is built for close games and we witnessed that once gain in a rally against Leesburg. 2023 6-foot-1 guard Omari Henry finished with a team-best 18 points and finished at the cup down the stretch with a variety of lay-ins. He had a ridiculous spin move and step back 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter that really sparked his group.

—2024 6-foot-3 Calvin Liptrot (13 points) is a big bodied guard who really paced the tempo while 2023 6-foot-2 guard Jalon Cole (12 points) is full of speed and boosted his team with jumpers and drives inside.

2023 6-5 G Camerin James – Leesburg

Hats off to Leesburg, who threw everything at Jones in the 3-point loss. 2023 6-foot-5 guard Camerin James was flat out good with 22 points. Locked in from the opening whistle, the super athletic guard got up and down the floor and hit a plethora of big shots and finishes.

—2026 6-foot-4 Angelo Moton (20 points) impressed playing a power forward role and getting inside a ton with his burst and craftiness. 2023 6-foot guard Derek McCray (12 points) connected on some tough jumpers.

2024 5-8 G Ta’Veon Jones – Windermere

Just mentioned in Part 3 of our 2024 Prospects to Remember, 2024 5-foot-8 guard Ta’Veon Jones was dynamic in a late night loss to Oak Ridge. He had 17 points, connected from deep when tasked to do so and his shiftiness creates a lot of open feeds for his teammates.

—2024 6-foot-4 guard Chalier Torres (15 points) is a chippy and aggressive attacker who didn’t back down one bit in this game. 2023 6-foot-2 guard Jalen Debose (13 points) continues to be a rock solid shooter and reliable ballhandler.

2026 6-1 G Jared Thompson – The Villages

In perhaps the game of the day, it was some role players that stepped up in a 3-point win for The Villages over a young and skilled Edgewater group. 2026 6-foot-1 guard Jared Thompson (14 points) had some clutch jumpers late. He’s a lightning quick athlete who should get even better as the season continues on.

—2024 6-foot-3 guard Ben Koubek (11 points) came alive in the second half as he connected on some key shots. 2023 6-foot-9 Sam Walters (Alabama commit) had 10 points and paced the offense while 2026 6-foot-7 forward Chris Washington Jr. (9 points) shined as a shotblocker and had some athletic finishes on the other end.

2025 6-3 G Darius Washington – Edgewater

Edgewater is right on the cusp with some young talent in place. 2025 6-foot-3 guard Darius Washington is a lanky body who isn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint. He had 13 points and handled the rock a ton in this game. His upside is endless.

—2024 6-foot-1 guard Erik Taylor (14 points) has plenty of burst and proved to be a very good slasher. He gets to the free throw line often. 2025 6-foot-7 forward Myles Myfield (12 points) didn’t shy away from the size of The Villages frontcourt as he hauled in boards and finished with purpose.

2024 6-3 G Kaleel Jones – Dr. Phillips

Dr. Phillips led at the half and didn’t go down easily against a good Central Florida Christian team early on in the day. 2024 6-foot-3 guard Kaleel Jones was a true bright spot with 15 points. He has a knack for rebounds and gets to good areas in the paint.

2024 6-1 G Julian Clarke – Lake Highland

Playing behind for much of the game, it was 2024 6-foot-1 guard Julian Clarke who put together a nice outing in a Lake Highland loss. He netted 16 points and was aggressive with his mix of speed and playmaking ability.

2023 6-0 G Sam Ducksworth – St. Pete

It certainly wasn’t St. Pete’s day in a loss to Wekiva, but 2023 6-foot guard Sam Ducksworth grinded it out with 17 points. He went to the rack and drew contact often and looked confident when doing so.
