Standouts: Tampa Elite Camp

TAMPA, FLORIDA The University of Tampa put on a very well run and worthwhile elite camp on Saturday. The coaches in the gym helped the prospects on hand and there were many talented hoopers at that.

College coaches running the drills and stations throughout the day were as follows:

  • Tampa – Linc Darner, Justin Pecka, Dexter Gooding
  • Florida College – Chase Teichmann, Jesse Repay, Ryan Chlebek
  • Coastal Georgia – Jesse Watkins
  • Southeastern – Brandon Mayhan

Below are the top standouts from the day of action.

2024 6-2 G Karter Richards – Michigan Grosse Pointe South

In town from Michigan, Karter Richards set the tone from the opening whistle of the camp. The 2024 6-foot-2 athlete is a high IQ point man with an all-around game. Richards displayed a ton of athleticism in every finishing drill, shot it really well in drills and scrimmages and uses his length effectively on and off the ball defensively. He’s in for a banner year at Gross Pointe South right outside of Detroit.

2024 6-5 G Guy Twitty – Archbishop McCarthy

With a college ready body, Guy Twitty stood out before the games and drills started. The 2024 6-foot-5 athlete is an athletic wing with a good looking and very effective mid-range jump shot. Twitty is an aggressive defender who can matchup with most prospects out there.

2024 6-5 F Donnie Morris – Berkeley Prep

Donnie Morris has been putting in the work. That is quite clear. The 2024 6-foot-5 Berkeley Prep forward can handle the ball, shoot from the mid-range spot and work around the rim. Morris has built up his upper body and he’s able to be an x-factor with or without the ball as a rebounder and floor mover.

2024 6-5 F Jayden “JJ” Brock – Michigan Byron Center

Visiting from Michigan, Jayden “JJ” Brock came to compete. He was one of the most gifted athletes on hand and at 6-foot-5, he has incredibly long arms. Brock can finish over or around defenders at the glass off the bounce or off inside feeds. He has a high motor, endless energy, relentless rebounding prowess and showed the ability to create for himself and others. Brock should be a top piece for Byron Center located south of Grand Rapids.

2024 6-3 G George Sterr Archbishop McCarthy

You could tell rather quickly that George Sterr was a track and field athlete. His athleticness is fun to watch on the basketball court with his smoothness, dunking ability and high IQ. Sterr doesn’t force much and shoots the ball at a high clip. The highlight of the day for the 2024 6-foot-3 guard was his baseline dunk in traffic during scrimmage play.

2024 6-4 G Jaden Wolner Naples

Naples has a true leader in Jaden Wolner. The 2024 6-foot-4 guard has been a floor pusher, space creator and vocal presence for awhile now. On Saturday, he proved his all-around game, dished out crafty passes, knocked down jumpers and hustled on the defensive end of the floor. Wolner will be leaned upon plenty this fall as a senior.

2025 6-3 G Tate Darner – Santa Fe Catholic

Known for his long range lethal 3-point shot, Tate Darner did a lot more than just shoot on the afternoon. He created for others and finished with both hands on the attack effectively. In the half-court, 4 on 4 station he went on a run of four straight baskets that was incredibly impressive. Whether it was mid-range pull-ups, floaters or step-back 3’s, Darner’s ability to score was special.

2026 6-7 F Chaunce Stewart Archbishop McCarthy

One of the younger standouts on the day, Chaunce Stewart is a prospect to keep a close eye on in college coaches circles over the next few years. At 6-foot-7, the 2026 forward is a versatile rim protector with a high motor. Stewart was soaking in all the tips and notes from coaches on hand.
