Standouts: Turkey Shootout at Canterbury

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA – The inaugural Turkey Shootout at Canterbury kicked off on Friday night with two highly competitive matchups.

Results:

  • Bradenton Christian 75, Naples 63
  • Community School of Naples 67, Canterbury 53

Here’s a look at the top performers from Day 1 of the event.

2024 6-0 G Jaden Baker – Bradenton Christian

Bradenton Christian had five players in double digits in a comeback win over Naples. 2024 6-foot guard Jaden Baker was red hot in the third quarter with 16 of his daily-high 29 points. He drained four 3’s, all in that quarter and couldn’t be contained wherever he was on the floor. Baker is a gamer as an attacker and a shooter who is off to a great start to his junior season.

—2025 6-foot-4 guard Grant Schewe (13 points), 2025 5-foot-11 guard Aaron Clark (11 points), 2026 6-foot-2 forward Jayden Burnett (10 points) and 2024 5-foot-11 guard Ty Townsend (10 points) all recorded double-digit outings.

2023 5-10 G Charley Costa – Community School of Naples

Knocking down six 3’s is no easy feat and 2023 5-foot-10 guard Charley Costa did just that with a 22-point night for Community School of Naples. Four of his 3’s came in the second half when he simply caught fire from deep. Costa is going to hurt a lot of opposing defenses in this offensive scheme since it moves the ball so well.

—2023 6-foot guard Aiden Doyle paced Costa with 15 points and finished at the rim very well. 2023 6-foot-2 guard Jackson McAdams (6 points) connected on two 3’s but set up almost everything for his offense with high IQ passes and vocalness.

2024 6-0 G Charlie Ricketts – Naples

For Naples, 2024 6-foot-0 guard Charlie Ricketts had it going in a loss to Bradenton Christian. The well-built shooter knocked down five 3’s on the way to a 22-point performance for the Golden Eagles. With a few prospects missing to an extended football season, Ricketts stepped up with a short-handed bench. Ricketts handles the ball well and is a vocal passionate player.

—2023 6-1 guard Marques Leon was a key piece down the stretch, dropping 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as Naples pressed Bradenton Christian and kept the game close.

2024 6-1 G Leroy Roker – Canterbury

In a loss to Community School of Naples, 2024 6-foot-1 guard Leroy Roker was super active for Canterbury with a team-best 15 points. He gets up and down the floor in a blink of an eye. Fresh off his junior football season, you can see the speed and instincts that he has as a finisher and disruptor on defense.

—2026 6-foot-5 guard Brisun Hammermeister netted 12 of his 14 points in the second half as he was active in transition and attacked the basket often. He’s very athletic.
