Top Performers: Week 4

As the holidays approach, the basketball season continues to produce high quality games.

I stopped over to South Florida to take in three games this week. Here is a look at the top performances I saw.

Results:

  • Monday, Dec. 12 – Martin County 86, Port Saint Lucie 43
  • Tuesday, Dec. 13 – Dwyer 60, Olympic Heights 37
  • Wednesday, Dec. 14 – Columbus 88, Palmetto 48

2025 6-9 F Cameron Boozer – Columbus

Ranked as the No. 1 player in the class of 2025, Cameron Boozer proved exactly why he is one of the best prospects in the country, period. He dropped 31 points in the 88-48 win over Palmetto on Wednesday night. Boozer did almost everything he wanted as he attacked the rim with powerful dunks and lay-ins and hit some tough contested 3’s. His length is a major issue combined with his speed and smarts and ability to run the floor. Boozer is the real deal. Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff were on hand to watch.

—2024 6-foot-8 forward Malik Abdullahi (11 points) was active with dunks and good stretch play. He’s a freakish athlete. 2025 6-foot-5 guard Cayden Boozer (10 points) proved once again that he is a gifted point man who sees the court very well. 2025 6-foot-3 guard Benny Fragela (11 points) has true value as a dangerous 3-point shooter.

2024 6-3 G Randy Smith – Palmetto

Randy Smith is flat-out good. A strong and gifted athlete, he had 23 points in the loss to Columbus. Smith hit five 3’s in the game and didn’t back away from the length and pressure the Explorers threw at him. College coaches need to get on him right now as he continues to be a top-flight shooter and a tough-minded guard.

—2024 6-foot-1 guard Braylon Burbidge is one of the shiftiest guards I’ve seen in quite a while. He was creating so much space for himself and his teammates despite all the hard-nosed defense he faced. With 10 points, he fought for all his buckets. Most impressively, he had this block on Columbus’s big man Nikolas Djapa (VIDEO).

2024 6-4 G Elijah Duval – Martin County

Elijah Duval had himself a really impressive outing on Monday night against Port Saint Lucie. Despite not playing much of the fourth quarter, the 2024 6-foot-4 guard finished with 17 points. He has a smooth jumper, uses his strength and spin move to score inside and he is a fiery defender. I loved how he was unselfish and made sure his teammates got involved by feeding them high-IQ passes often.

—Martin County has two 2026 prospects to truly develop. 6-foot-5 forward Brandon Brazell is a gifted leaper and defender who by my count had four blocks. He has plenty of time to develop offensively. 6-foot-3 guard Kayden Johnson has upside with his good ballhandling skills and shiftiness.

2023 6-5 G/F Blake Wilson – Dwyer

Dwyer is now 8-0 and there are many reasons why. The Panthers have a ton of pure speed and athletes on this roster, all the way down to the final guy in uniform. Division II Staten Island commit Blake Wilson was the best thing rolling in Tuesday night’s win over Olympic Heights. The 6-foot-5 versatile prospect is a gifted shooter, physical rebounder and just an unselfish player all around. He finds his way to the ball a lot.

—2023 6-foot-3 guard Kyle McNeal (13 points) had his mid-range pull-up working often. He’s a dangerous athlete who would thrive on the basketball court if he doesn’t end up playing football at the next level. 2023 6-foot-6 guard Mason Brown (10 points) has a college-ready body and with his physicality and pure athleticism, he will excel wherever he lands.

2024 6-5 G Ryan Rodriguez – Port Saint Lucie

Despite the loss to Martin County, there was a true bright spot for Port Saint Lucie on Monday night. 2024 6-foot-5 guard Ryan Rodriguez led his side with 13 points. He is a very good floor pusher and he isn’t rattled much even when pressured by two defenders. Rodriguez has good length and pure athleticism to help at the next level.

2023 6-8 F Gyterson Louissaint – Olympic Heights

A true big man, 2023 6-foot-8 forward Gyterson Louissaint had some very solid moments in a Tuesday night loss to Dwyer. He has nice foot speed and his ability to attack the rim and defend down low are both sharp. He had eight points in the loss and is certainly a sneaky pickup for any college program in need of a player with his size.
