Standouts: Gibbs Summer League Finals

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA – The annual Gibbs Summer League wrapped up on Thursday with a pair of semifinals and the finals as Gibbs edged Calvary Christian.

Here is a look at the best performers on the night.

2025 6-0 G Jacob Daniels – Gibbs

(Pictured above) Jacob Daniels shot the ball very well and even got up for a few one-handed dunks off steals in transition. The 2025 6-foot guard is quick as they come, good in open space and simply a gamer. A mature leader for his age, Daniels created space for his teammates and found them on good feeds. Gibbs runs through Daniels and that bodes well for this offense.

—2027 6-foot-2 guard O’Neal Delancy is an instant impact player. Making his varsity debut this month, he hasn’t been rattled at all as a gifted ballhandler and impressive touch finisher. Delancy quietly gets it done and is well on his way as a rising freshman.

2024 6-0 G Daniel MacGregor – Calvary Christian

Calvary Christian was down 29-28 at the half and going back and forth with Gibbs. The second half didn’t go its way but don’t fault their guys for the true effort. Daniel MacGregor basically had a different defender in his face on every possession, but he still found ways to create havoc going downhill, finishing and dishing out assists. The 2024 6-foot guard plays endlessly hard and it showed in this intense championship tilt. MacGregor will be the heart beat and tenacious leader for Calvary Christian all year long.

2024 6-2 G Marcus Schade – Braden River

2024 Braden River guard Marcus Schade at the Gibbs Summer League – June 29, 2023 – St. Petersburg, Florida

Braden River made noise at the Gibbs Summer League all June. Marcus Schade has been a consistent producer for this squad and against Calvary Christian, he flashed his ability to finish with both hands, shoot it well and lead his team in transition. The 2024 6-foot-2 guard is a solid two-way prospect and someone who should have a very good senior campaign.

—2025 6-foot-2 guard Deven Womack is super athletic. He had a handful of blocks on defense which included one that he pinned against the backboard on a perfect alley oop attempt. Offensively, Womack has good burst and can finish with a variety of lay-ins.

2026 6-6 F Lavant Burgess – Seminole

Seminole gave Gibbs a true test for just over three and a half quarters of action in the semifinal. Lavant Burgess stood out with his abilities around the rim and aggressiveness. The 2026 6-foot-6 forward certainly has a chance to develop with his size, stature and touch around the rim.

—2024 6-foot-4 guard Colin Way got going down the stretch and that truly helped his side keep the game close for awhile. His jumper is smooth and his will to drive as an attacker is fun to watch.
