The Hoop Vibe Girls Is Here

We have a major announcement here at The Hoop Vibe.

With the launch of The Hoop Vibe on the boy’s side in August 2022 and the middle school side this February, there was a missing piece to the puzzle in the high school basketball space.

Not any longer.

The girl’s side is now a part of the company under the name The Hoop Vibe Girls. Rebekah Day has officially been named The Hoop Vibe Girls Director and will be in charge of content and event coordination. We will start with content here this weekend on the AAU circuit and will have our kick-off event for the girls at the 2nd annual Hoop Vibe Fall Showcase at The Villages on Sunday, Sept. 15.

A 2014 graduate of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Day has been around basketball since the age of nine when she first played organized hoops. From 7th to 12th grade, she was the starting point guard at City of Life Christian in Kissimmee. She was a standout player for Southeastern from 2009-2013.

In 2013, Day was the head coach of the semi-pro men’s team the Florida Flight. After that, she served as an assistant coach at her alma mater Southeastern, helping the women’s program reach the NAIA Nationals for the first time in program history in 2015 and then again in 2016. From August 2016 to May 2018, she was an assistant women’s coach and recruiting coordinator for Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Since then, she’s been helping girls athletes in the high school space. From August 2018 to April 2019, she was an assistant varsity coach and head junior varsity coach at Saint Cloud, a Class 6A State Finalist in 2019. Currently, she is an assistant varsity coach, and head coach for junior varsity and middle school at Central Florida Christian and has been since 2021. The Eagles were a Class 2A State Runner-Up this season.

“I’m thrilled to join forces with The Hoop Vibe as the Girls Director. Using the platform to shine a spotlight on women’s basketball made all the sense in the world,” Hoop Vibe Girls Director Rebekah Day said. “Together, let’s elevate the game, scout new talent and guide the next generation of elite athletes.”

Established in 2022, The Hoop Vibe has been an integral part of the high school and middle school boys’ space and we plan to continue to build and help as many hoopers as possible. Now with the girls branch, we can do more and aid an even bigger pool of athletes through our platform.

The Hoop Vibe puts prospects in the best position possible through events, coverage, social media and daily conversations with college coaches.

“For as long as I can remember there has always been a clear need to help girls basketball athletes at the prep level,” Hoop Vibe Founder/Scouting Director Jake Perper said. “I’m beyond pumped to have Rebekah [Day] running the show on the content and event side for girls high school basketball here at The Hoop Vibe. She knows the game in and out and has a true feel for helping recruits through events as well. It was a natural fit to bring her on board. Not only will she help girls hoops through events but her content and recruiting reports will be a true game-changer. This is only the beginning for The Hoop Vibe Girls.”

Our Middle Schoool Director Barry Bartlett has been busy planning for the debut showcase “The Future” on Sunday, August 4 in Clearwater. His knowledge in the basketball space in terms of recruiting and event operations is top-notch. Bartlett has a unique touch with parents and coaches and it makes The Hoop Vibe events stand out among the rest.

“We are really excited to have Rebekah [Day] join the team as the Hoop Vibe Girls Director. She brings the right experience and drive we are looking for to promote an underserved girls basketball market,” Hoop Vibe Middle School Director Barry Bartlett said. “I love that she has high standards related to her approach to event management and a real passion for helping female hoopers reach their goals of playing at the next level.”
